AGRUMATO® Oil was born from a custom, that is to produce the lemon oil at the end of the oil campaign. This tradition would have definitively disappeared if it hadn’t been for the intuition and passion of the Ricci brothers, who were the first to understand the extraordinary potential of this product, which for over 30 years has been offered by the Ricci family, who produce the Original AGRUMATO® Oil.
The traditional recipe, known by very few Abruzzo millers, is that the olives they came hand picked with the grazing method and the citrus fruits, rigorously free of harmful substances and accurately selected by degree of ripeness and variety, come crushed at the same time with granite millstones and subsequently cold extracted with mechanical processes.
Inspired by this forgotten tradition, the original and inimitable AGRUMATO® EVO oil was created in 1989.
This product was developed by Francesco and Lino Ricci after years of research into production methods, which enabled them to define an original and exclusive production protocol that is now owned by the RICCI family of Lanciano.
Moreover the Ricci brothers did not stop with lemon oil and guided by their creativity, and the desire for innovation, they were the first ever , to use the other citrus fruits of our Mediterranean production creating a complete line of these extraordinary oil and citrus based condiments.
A NEW WORD TO INDICATE AN ANCIENT PRODUCT
AGRUMATO® is a neologism created by Francesco G. Maria Ricci (which is still not present in any official dictionary of the Italian language) in 1989 in order to better define the various types of seasonings based on Extra Virgin Olive Oil and citrus fruits, created with the intention of meeting the varied tastes of its customers.
